In Ukraine, vegetable and berry prices have dropped: updated prices for the borscht set and fruits

В Україні подешевшали всі позиції "борщового набору"

In Ukraine, there has been a noticeable decrease in prices for key vegetables and greens over the past week, particularly for all items in the so-called “borscht set” from the new harvest. The first Ukrainian eggplants and sweet corn have already appeared on the market, which has also influenced the overall price dynamics.

Price Dynamics for New Harvest Vegetables

According to analysts, wholesale prices for potatoes have decreased from 15–22 to 12–18 hryvnias per kilogram. Carrots have dropped in price from 50–55 to 40–50 UAH/kg. Cabbage has lost value as well: the lower price limit has fallen from 18 to 15 hryvnias per kilogram. Beets have also become cheaper — from 15 to 12 UAH/kg, while onions recorded a drop in the upper price limit from 25 to 17 UAH/kg.

Other vegetables have significantly decreased in price as well. Tomatoes now cost 30–60 UAH/kg instead of 55–85 UAH/kg. Pickled peppers have decreased in price from 100–160 to 85–100 UAH/kg, and zucchini — from 18–20 to 15–18 UAH/kg. Beijing cabbage now costs 15–25 UAH/kg (previously 25–30 UAH/kg), while cauliflower is priced at 15–30 UAH/kg instead of 45 UAH/kg. A new addition to the market is the first eggplants, which are sold for 90–105 UAH/kg, as well as sweet corn at 15–17 hryvnias each.

Changes in Fruit and Berry Prices

In contrast to vegetables, prices for some fruits and berries have changed in different directions. Cherries have become more expensive, now costing 150–160 UAH/kg instead of the previous 115–130 UAH/kg. Garden strawberries have also increased in price from 75–120 to 100–130 UAH/kg.

At the same time, other berries continue to decrease in price. Against the backdrop of increasing supply, prices for blueberries have rapidly dropped from 380–450 to 220–380 UAH/kg.

Raspberries have also become more affordable: their price has fallen from 320–350 to 200–300 UAH/kg, while red currants have decreased from 130–170 to 80–150 UAH/kg. The first local watermelons have already appeared on the market, selling for 20–32 UAH/kg.

Overall, the new harvest of vegetables and berries is providing Ukrainians with more affordable prices, and the expansion of the seasonal product range is contributing to further price reductions in the market.
