In 2024, Ukraine confirmed its leadership position in the European agricultural market by entering the top three largest exporters to the European Union. With an export volume of €13.1 billion, our country ranks third, accounting for 6.7% of the total agricultural product imports to the EU, according to Eurostat data.

The leader in agricultural product supplies to the European Union in 2024 was Brazil, which exported goods worth €17.1 billion (8.8%). The second largest supplier was the United Kingdom, with a share of 8.5% and an export volume of €16.6 billion. The United States ranks fourth, securing 6.1% of the market with an export volume of €12 billion.
Agricultural Trade in the EU
In 2024, the EU exported agricultural products worth €234.1 billion and imported goods worth €194.9 billion. Compared to 2023, exports increased by 2.8%, while imports rose by 6.7%. From 2014 to 2024, agricultural trade volumes in the European Union grew by 59%, with exports increasing by 58% and imports by 60.2%.
Main Export Destinations for EU Agricultural Products
Last year, the United Kingdom became the main destination for agricultural product exports from the EU, accounting for 23% of the total volume (approximately €54 billion). Other significant export destinations include the United States, Switzerland, and China.
