“We have actually received about 100 billion dollars in aid from the USA. Some of the money went towards the transportation of various equipment, which was received by American companies, transport companies. Furthermore, a lot of the funding from the United States remained in Europe. They financed various offices of the relevant programs of the United States. What came into Ukraine, I can’t remember exactly, was 65–67 billion. And that was for weapons and money,” Zelensky said.
Additionally, the president noted that the USA provided about 35 billion dollars to support the Ukrainian budget. Zelensky emphasized the importance of this aid, stating that Ukraine is defending shared values and Europe.
“We have always considered this our common struggle. Therefore, Europe also financed. At this point, Europe has provided approximately as much money as the United States. But I can only thank the people of the USA for their serious support,” the president added.
Recall that on April 11, participants of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the “Ramstein” format announced commitments for military aid to Ukraine exceeding 21 billion euros, marking a “record” increase in military funding for the country. This year, European countries have already allocated over 23 billion euros in military assistance to Ukraine, surpassing last year’s total.
