New Strategy: Food from Ukraine

The humanitarian initiative Grain From Ukraine is transforming into a broader project – Food from Ukraine, which aims not only to provide assistance but also to export advanced agricultural technologies and build long-term partnerships with African countries. As Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated, Ukraine is gradually transitioning from being a raw material exporting country to a producer of world-class products, which strengthens the stability of international markets and supports those who need assistance the most.

“We are moving from being a raw material exporting country to a state that creates world-class food products, ensuring stability in international markets and helping those who need this support the most. Food from Ukraine means exporting approaches, technologies, and building partnerships. We are shifting from providing humanitarian aid to a model of mutually beneficial development,” she said.

Strategic Cooperation and Prospects for Ukraine and Ghana

Under the agreements, Ukraine will provide technological expertise, supply modern equipment, and offer technical support for launching the hub. Ghana, for its part, will allocate land plots, provide necessary permits, ensure access to infrastructure, and guarantee legal support for the project.

The implementation of this initiative will allow:

  • to increase the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to African countries;
  • to create a logistics hub for distributing Ukrainian products;
  • to attract foreign investment in processing, logistics, and agricultural technologies;
  • to develop local infrastructure and create new jobs in Ghana;
  • to strengthen political and economic partnerships between Ukraine and African countries;
  • to enhance food security in the region, especially in countries that rely on grain and flour imports.

The signing of the memorandum also strengthens Ukraine’s position as one of the key guarantors of global food security. The project opens new markets for Ukrainian producers and promotes the expansion of cooperation with Global South countries.
