The United Arab Emirates has resumed operations at its main gas processing facility in Habshan following a recent missile attack from Iran. However, production levels remain reduced.

Production Limitations Due to Export Issues
Despite the resumption of operations, the only functioning LNG (liquefied natural gas) plant in the UAE, located on Das Island, is currently operating at minimal capacity. This is due to export routes through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz remaining blocked, making full product export impossible.
The plant on Das Island, designed to produce 6 million tons of LNG per year, has not completely shut down. The facility is maintaining essential operations to ensure a quick return to normal operations once the Strait of Hormuz is opened.
Operational Adjustments by Adnoc Gas Plc
The operator of the facilities in Habshan and on Das Island is Adnoc Gas Plc. On Monday, it announced the implementation of temporary changes to the LNG production processes. These measures were a response to disruptions in shipping caused by the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
“Adnoc Gas Plc, which operates the processing plant in Habshan and the plant on Das Island, stated on Monday that it has made temporary operational adjustments to LNG production in response to shipping disruptions in Hormuz.”
