Truck traffic on the M-15 Odesa–Reni highway has been completely halted due to the need to address the aftermath of recent enemy shelling in the Odesa region.

This is reported by Finway

Reasons for the traffic restriction and official explanation

The relevant decision was made by the Odesa Regional Defense Council on December 19, 2025, as reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper. He emphasized that such measures are necessary due to the operational situation in the region and the need to eliminate the consequences of attacks on infrastructure.

“Considering the operational situation in the region and in order to address the aftermath of enemy shelling in Odesa, the decision of the Odesa Regional Defense Council on December 19, 2025, has halted truck traffic on the M-15 Odesa – Reni highway,” noted Oleg Kiper.

The head of the OVA urged carriers and drivers to take these changes into account and plan their routes considering the temporary restrictions.

Circumstances of the road closure

According to the Odesa OVA, truck traffic on the M-15 was suspended on December 18 following an attack by an enemy drone on the bridge in Maiaky. During the night, traffic was briefly restored; however, in the morning, due to repeated air raid alerts and new attempts at attacks, the authorities decided to completely close the section for truck traffic. This step is intended to ensure the safety of drivers and allow emergency services to address the consequences of the damage.
