This was reported by Yuriy Zdebskyi, a member of the “Servant of the People” faction and a member of the National Security Committee.

The Need for Transparency and Control in Reservations
According to the deputy, the issue of reservations generates significant public resonance and is the subject of numerous discussions. Yuriy Zdebskyi emphasized that there are still unresolved aspects in this area that require immediate attention. Among them are unclear rules and insufficient control over the processes of granting deferments and reservations.
“We have students who are 50 and 40 years old… This is quite a complex conversation, but we need to change our approaches, establish clear rules, and control the process of reservations and deferments. For this, a relevant supervisory body should be created,” said the deputy.
Priorities for Reservations and Improving Mechanisms
Yuriy Zdebskyi noted that, first and foremost, reservations should be granted to workers in the agricultural sector and critical infrastructure. At the same time, he stressed that the system should not become a mechanism for evading military service. In the parliamentarian’s opinion, it is necessary to significantly improve the mechanisms for reservations, mobilization, and granting deferments, as the Ukrainian army is in need of servicemen.
