As of this morning, the situation remains particularly tense in the Chernihiv region, where hourly power outages have been implemented.

Mass Power Outages Due to Strikes on Energy Facilities
After missile and drone attacks by Russia on the night of March 25, residents of Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Odesa regions were left without electricity. The Chernihiv region has been the hardest hit, where key energy equipment has been damaged due to a series of attacks, affecting the stability of the region’s power supply. As a result, hourly outage schedules are being enforced there to balance the load on the grid.
"Due to the massive missile and drone attack the previous day, as well as strikes by the enemy on the energy infrastructure of frontline and border regions with Russia — as of this morning, consumers in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Odesa regions are without power. The most difficult situation currently is in the Chernihiv region. There, energy equipment has been damaged due to several consecutive enemy attacks, necessitating the forced implementation of hourly outages".
Recommendations for Electricity Consumption
As of 9:30 AM, electricity consumption across the country has increased by 1.8% compared to the previous day’s figures. The increase in load is attributed to overcast weather in many regions, which reduces the efficiency of private solar power plants, thereby forcing consumers to rely more on the general grid.
Experts advise citizens to shift active energy consumption to the period from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, when solar power plants operate most efficiently. They also urge people to refrain from using multiple high-power electrical appliances simultaneously in the evening from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to avoid additional strain on the grid.
As a result of the attacks on March 24, not only energy facilities were damaged. Russian drones struck facilities in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, as well as in Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Significant damage has been inflicted on residential and critical infrastructure in the Chernihiv region. It is also reported that about 21,000 residents of the city of Slavutych in Kyiv region were left without centralized electricity supply due to damage to the infrastructure in Chernihiv region.
