Warning about a new SMS fraud scheme impersonating ‘Nova Poshta’

Українців попередили про свіжу шахрайську схему

A new wave of fraudulent phishing attacks has been recorded in Ukraine, during which criminals send SMS messages that imitate official communication from ‘Nova Poshta’. The aim of these messages is to gain access to users’ personal and financial data.

How the phishing scheme works

Customers of ‘Nova Poshta’ have started receiving SMS from unknown numbers, stating that their package is delayed due to an allegedly incorrect index. The message contains a link that is suggested to be clicked to confirm the address. In reality, this link leads to a phishing site where scammers attempt to obtain the recipient’s personal and banking information.

Safety recommendations

“Do not click on links in SMS and do not share personal information. Delete the message and warn your loved ones, especially elderly people who may not suspect the deception,” the company emphasized.

The company stressed that all official communication from ‘Nova Poshta’ is conducted exclusively through verified channels: the official website, mobile application, social media, and SMS from official numbers. In case of receiving suspicious messages, it is recommended to ignore them, not to click on links, and not to disclose personal information.
