Details of the Investigation and the Suspects’ Position
On May 11, suspicion was handed to Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. According to the Bureau, he is one of the participants in the organized group involved in money laundering during the construction of the private residences ‘Dynasty’.
After receiving the suspicion, Yermak told reporters that he would provide his comment only after the investigative actions are completed. In response to clarifying questions, he emphasized: “I do not own any houses; I only have one apartment and one car, which you have seen.”
Andriy Yermak’s lawyer, Ihor Fomin, considers the suspicion unfounded, noting that the situation may be related to public pressure.
On May 12, suspicions were announced for six more individuals involved in this case.
On May 14, the High Anti-Corruption Court ordered Andriy Yermak to be taken into custody. An alternative to detention was set at a bail amount of 140 million hryvnias. After the decision was announced, Yermak stated that he did not have sufficient funds to pay the bail but hopes for support from friends and acquaintances. By May 15, half of the necessary amount had been raised, so he will remain in the pre-trial detention center over the weekend.
