As a result of a massive missile attack by the Russian Federation on Kyiv during the night of May 14 to 15, 24 people were killed, including three children. This was reported by the State Emergency Service, specifying that the most affected area was the Darnytskyi district of the capital.

The operation to eliminate the consequences is ongoing

According to the State Emergency Service, 47 people were injured in Kyiv, including two children. Rescuers managed to save 30 individuals. Psychologists provided assistance to 398 victims, and dog handlers surveyed over 2,800 square meters of territory. From the site of the tragedy, 3,180 cubic meters of debris were removed. On the morning of May 15, rescuers completed the search and rescue operation, dismantling over 3,000 cubic meters of the destroyed structures of the high-rise building.

The city authorities declared May 15 a day of mourning for the victims of the attack that occurred the day before. As a result of the shelling, a nine-story building in the Darnytskyi district was partially destroyed, with 18 apartments destroyed. According to preliminary data, at least 20 people are considered missing due to the building’s collapse.

Scale of destruction in Kyiv and the region

Damage has also been recorded in the Dniprovskiy, Holosiivskyi, and Obolonskyi districts of the capital. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of May 14, Russian troops launched 56 missiles of various types and 675 strike drones at Ukraine, with Kyiv being the main target of the attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that as a result of this massive attack, 180 facilities across the country were damaged, including over 50 residential buildings.

The Russian side has not officially commented on this attack.
