Main Factors Influencing Prices
The dynamics of fuel prices in September were significantly influenced by global trends in the oil market. Since Ukraine is forced to import almost all of its fuel, the key factor remains the quotations for Brent crude oil. By the end of the month, the price of Brent had changed little, standing at 67.5 US dollars per barrel.
Additionally, the exchange rate of the national currency against the US dollar affects fuel prices. Throughout September, the dollar’s exchange rate increased by only 5 kopecks, ending the month at 41.31 hryvnias per dollar. The combination of these factors ensured relative stability in prices in the domestic fuel market.
