In September 2025, experts from PeckShield recorded a significant decrease in losses from hacker attacks in the crypto industry. Total losses amounted to approximately $127 million, which is 22% less compared to August of the same year, when cybercriminals inflicted damage of $163 million.

Major Attacks of September
During the month, at least 20 major hacks of crypto projects were recorded. The most affected was the UXLINK project, which lost over $44 million due to a cyberattack. In second place was the SwissBorg platform, with losses of around $41.5 million.
Among significant incidents, a user of the decentralized protocol Venus also stood out, having lost $13.5 million due to a phishing attack. However, part of the funds was recovered: out of $13.5 million, $13 million was restored, as the attackers agreed to return part of the stolen assets.
Other Notable Hacks
The list of the largest attacks of the month also included the Yala platform, which lost $7.64 million, and the GriffAI project with losses of $3 million.
