In September 2025, Ukraine exported 2.84 million tons of agricultural products, representing a 38% decrease compared to the same period last year. The most significant reduction affected corn exports, which fell by 88.4% to 61,000 tons. There was also a substantial decrease in the export of rapeseed, soybeans, and sunflower oil.

Export Structure and Main Shipping Directions
Wheat remained the main export crop with a figure of 1.83 million tons, which is 21% less than last year. Rapeseed exports decreased by 68.8% (238,000 tons), and soybean exports fell by 66.7% (78,000 tons). A total of 203,000 tons of sunflower oil was shipped, which is 42% less, while legume exports decreased by 24% to 177,000 tons. At the same time, the only crop that showed an increase in exports was barley, which rose by 4% to 238,000 tons.
Main Logistics Routes and Shipping Dynamics
The majority of agricultural products were exported through the ports of Odesa, accounting for 90% of the total volume. Two percent were shipped through Danube ports, another 6% were transported by rail, and 2% by trucks. However, declines were observed across all directions. Specifically, exports through Odesa ports decreased by 29.2% to 2.522 million tons, while exports through Danube ports fell by 84.4% to 68,000 tons. Rail transport decreased by 61.5% (175,000 tons), and road transport dropped by 68.8% (55,000 tons).
“As of October 10, Ukrainian farmers have already harvested 33.03 million tons of grain crops from 67% of the sown area. In particular, they have threshed 22.62 million tons of wheat, 5.31 million tons of barley, and 3.45 million tons of corn. Oilseed crops amounted to 12.43 million tons, including 6.35 million tons of sunflower.”
These figures indicate a challenging situation in the export of Ukrainian agricultural products, despite the positive dynamics in this year’s harvest collection.
