Repeated strikes and consequences of the attacks
According to Naftogaz Group, several facilities were hit. The infrastructure in Sumy region suffered particularly, where the enemy launched a repeated strike on one of the facilities with just a few hours’ difference. This significantly complicated the elimination of the aftermath and the work of emergency services.
“The oil and gas infrastructure in Kharkiv and Sumy regions came under fire. At one facility in Sumy region, the enemy struck again with an interval of a few hours.”
The shelling resulted in large-scale fires and serious damage to production sites. The company notes that the Russians are conducting almost continuous attacks not only on Kharkiv and Sumy regions but also on facilities in Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Gas supply issues
The situation with continuous attacks significantly complicates the provision of gas to the population. On May 26, in Poltava district, about 3,000 consumers were left without gas supply due to another strike by the Russian Federation. Energy workers and emergency services are working to restore the networks, but the constant threat of new attacks complicates this work.
