“Water is supplied from the power grid. The treatment facilities are operating on a generator. Heating: some boiler houses have switched to generators, and the boilers are being ignited. Fuel is available. All responsible services are on duty. The situation is under control.”
This energy facility has faced hostile attacks before: in the last three days, it has been shelled several times, leading to disruptions in the energy supply to Novovolynsk. The city has periodically been left without electricity and water, and there have been difficulties with mobile communication.
Mass Strikes on Ukraine’s Infrastructure
On the night of February 9, the Russians carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Odesa region. As a result of the strikes in Odesa, residential infrastructure was damaged — the roof of a multi-story building caught fire, a gas pipeline was damaged, and passenger cars and a non-residential building ignited. One person is reported to have died due to this attack.
Consequences of Recent Enemy Attacks
- In Bohodukhiv, the enemy attacked the private sector with strike drones. A residential building was destroyed, and the bodies of a woman and a 10-year-old boy were retrieved from the rubble. Three other people were injured.
- On the night of February 8, Russian troops attacked Naftogaz facilities in Poltava region, resulting in infrastructure damage.
- In Burshtyn, a combined attack occurred on February 7, leaving the city without heat and water, and the Burshtyn TPP halted operations due to significant damage.
