In Russia, a copy of the Tesla Cybertruck, the Russo-Balt C55, has been created for $105,000: specifications and photos

A new electric vehicle, the “Russo-Balt” C55, has been announced in the Russian Federation, which is almost an exact copy of the Tesla Cybertruck but significantly more expensive. According to preliminary information, the price of the new car will start from 8 million rubles, which is equivalent to approximately $105,000 — this is much higher than the base price of the Tesla Cybertruck with all-wheel drive, which starts at $62,200.

Russo-Balt C55: project details and design

So far, the “Russo-Balt” C55 exists only in renders. The first working prototype is promised to be presented in the summer, and the start of serial production is planned for 2027. The development is being handled by a company of the same name from Perm, which is not related to the historic Riga brand Russo-Balt, the rights to which belong to the Latvian company Dartz.

The exterior of the crossover almost completely copies the Tesla Cybertruck: similar silhouette, sharp angular lines, narrow LED headlights. However, unlike the American pickup, the Russo-Balt C55 is a crossover, not a pickup, and it has smaller dimensions. There is no cargo platform provided.

Technical specifications and equipment

The interior of the car remains a secret — it is only known that it will feature a 15-inch touchscreen. The list of equipment will include a panoramic roof, 20-inch wheels, leather interior, climate control, surround view cameras, electric drives, and heated and ventilated seats.

“The electric car will have a range of 500 km.”

The technical part will likely be of Chinese origin. The first presented version of the C55 will have two electric motors with a total power of 550 hp, will accelerate to 100 km/h in 6 seconds, and will reach a maximum speed of 210 km/h. The battery capacity will be 110 kWh, providing a range of up to 500 km.

In the future, the manufacturer plans to release a hybrid version with a power of 1000 hp, featuring four electric motors and a gasoline engine. This version will receive air suspension and steerable rear wheels.

Additionally, the company recently announced an electric van Russo-Balt, the design of which also resembles the Tesla Cybertruck.
