Orban’s Statement on Energy Supplies
Speaking on social media platform X, Orban noted that Hungary has no intention of making concessions or entering into any agreements on this matter. According to him, the energy security of the country remains a priority, and the resumption of oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline is strategically important for the government.
“There will be no agreements, no compromises. We will break the Ukrainian oil blockade by force. Hungary’s energy resources will soon flow again through the ‘Druzhba’ pipeline,” he stated on his page on social media platform X.
Political and Financial Leverage
Orban emphasized that Hungary possesses both political and financial tools to achieve the resumption of oil transit. He stressed that the government is prepared to act decisively if the issue is not resolved through negotiations. According to the Prime Minister, Budapest will not make compromises and intends to ensure oil supplies for the needs of the national economy.
The recent statements from the Hungarian leader indicate a deterioration in relations between Ukraine and Hungary in the energy sector, particularly concerning the transit of oil through the key Druzhba pipeline, which is of strategic importance to the region.
