New Railcar Manufacturing Plant in Volyn: 1200 Cars per Year and Export to the EU

The TAS group has begun construction of a new railcar manufacturing plant in Kovel, located in the Volyn region. This plant will have a production capacity of 1200 freight cars annually and will also be able to facilitate the export of products to European Union countries.

This is reported by Finway

The total investment in the project, excluding equipment costs, is approximately ₴200 million. The new plant will be part of the TAS Dniprovahonmash company, which is already successfully manufacturing cars in Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Logistics and Infrastructure

It is known that the company has acquired 10,000 square meters of industrial space in Kovel and is installing a track that will connect production with the sales market – the European Union. The distance from the plant to the Polish border is less than 100 km. The European standard narrow gauge will enter directly into the workshop, facilitating the efficient transportation of finished products.

Future Plans

Currently, the installation of equipment at the plant is underway, and the process is on schedule. The company plans to launch the new facility in September. All cars produced in Kovel are already certified for the EU market, which will significantly simplify the export procedure. According to plans, within 2-3 years, the plant will be able to supply about 100 cars to Europe each month.
