A multimodal terminal for liquid cargo with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year will be built in the Transcarpathian region

A modern multimodal terminal for liquid cargo, as well as a specialized facility for storing petroleum products with a technological installation for adding bioethanol to gasoline, is planned to be built in the Transcarpathian region. The project involves the creation of infrastructure on the outskirts of the village of Goronda, located 17 kilometers from Mukachevo.

Parameters of the new terminal and logistics features

The future facility, informally referred to as a “dry port,” will occupy an area of about 19 hectares. Its territory will handle the import and export of liquefied gas, bioethanol, vegetable oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline. All cargo will be delivered by both rail and road transport. To facilitate this, two railway tracks of different widths will be installed – 1,520 mm from Mukachevo and 1,435 mm from the direction of Strabichovo, ensuring flexibility in logistics operations.

Annual capacity and distribution of cargo flows

The terminal’s capacity will be 300,000 tons per year. Of this amount, 200,000 tons will be allocated for bioethanol, non-food vegetable oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline, while the remainder will be for liquefied gas. The implementation of a blending facility will allow for the addition of bioethanol to gasoline directly on the terminal’s premises, aligning with modern trends in fuel market development.

The investor for the project is the energy group of companies “Nadezhda” from Poltava, which owns a developed network of gas stations and oil depots throughout Ukraine. The group has announced a partial relocation of its production facilities to Transcarpathia. This is already the third initiative for the construction of a multimodal “dry port” in this region.

The area of the future “dry port” is approximately 19 hectares. The terminal will handle the import and export of liquefied gas, bioethanol, vegetable oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline, arriving by rail and road. It is expected that two tracks of different widths will enter the terminal area – 1,520 mm from Mukachevo and 1,435 mm from Strabichovo. The planned annual capacity of the terminal is 300,000 tons. Of these, bioethanol, non-food vegetable oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline will account for 200,000 tons, while the remainder will be liquefied gas.
