Housing and Utilities
In large cities, renting a one-bedroom apartment in the center can cost from 2500 zlotys per month. Additionally, utility bills should be considered, which can range from approximately 300 to 500 zlotys per month, depending on consumption and the season.
Food and Daily Expenses
Food expenses largely depend on lifestyle. Cooking at home allows for savings, while regular visits to restaurants significantly increase costs. For example, the prices of basic products are: bread — about 4 zlotys, a liter of milk — 3 zlotys, a dozen eggs — 8 zlotys. Overall, monthly food expenses can range from 1200 to 1500 zlotys.
In Warsaw, a monthly public transport pass costs approximately 110 zlotys, but in other cities, prices may be lower. Car owners should also consider expenses for fuel, insurance, and maintenance.
Thus, for a comfortable life, a single person needs approximately 5000-6000 zlotys per month. For a family of two, this amount can be 7000-8000 zlotys. Over the past decade, living costs in Poland have increased by more than 55%.
It is worth noting that starting from July 1, 2025, medical workers in Poland can expect an increase in the minimum wage.
It should also be noted that Ukrainians paid the most taxes in Poland in 2024. The Ministry of Finance of Poland reported that foreigners paid over 4.88 billion zlotys in taxes in Poland in 2024, with the largest portion — nearly 1.65 billion zlotys — coming from Ukrainian citizens.
