Lithuania, acting as a leader of the international coalition for demining, supports Taiwan’s involvement in this humanitarian initiative. Taiwan’s contribution will be a significant support in the development of humanitarian demining in Ukraine, which, in turn, will help address the consequences of the Russian invasion. This is a testament to the shared commitment to supporting Ukraine in its aspirations for security and recovery.

Former President Tsai was present at the signing ceremony and expressed her joy at the deepening cooperation between the two countries.

The partnership between Taiwan and Lithuania demonstrates how collaboration among like-minded countries can have a real humanitarian impact in crisis situations. This initiative also complements the existing experience of joint humanitarian activities by Taiwan and Lithuania in support of Ukraine. Previously, Taiwan funded the restoration of Ukrainian schools and kindergartens affected by the war, helping to restore educational spaces for children in the impacted regions.
