A new operating system, SpoonOS, has been released on the Neo blockchain, positioned as a universal framework for creating artificial intelligence (AI) agents. The project team announced plans to allocate $2 million to support solutions in this area and encourage adoption.

The developers of SpoonOS presented this OS as an enhanced framework for launching blockchain-based agents with open-source Neo, governed by the community. This solution aims to simplify the development of such technologies, helping to elevate the network to a new level in the context of the agent economy.
Investments and Initiatives for Developers
To accelerate the adoption of SpoonOS, plans are in place to invest $2 million in various initiatives, including hackathons and programs for developers creating solutions in the AI agent category. Project representatives emphasized that details about specific initiatives will be announced soon.
Potential and Partnerships of Neo
Developers pointed out the significant potential of the Neo platform, particularly with the recent launch of the high-performance sidechain Neo X in July 2024, which is EVM-compatible. Neo has also partnered with the Inflectiv project, launched an AI-enhanced game called Matrix, and added a relevant category to the Neo X Grind hackathon.
The launch of SpoonOS marks the Neo team’s commitment to the development of Web3, which they believe is directly linked to the application of AI technologies. SpoonOS offers a comprehensive set of tools, providing OS integration for creating the next generation of agents, simplifying their development, deployment, and management.
With privacy, security, and data layer modules, SpoonOS ensures system protection and user confidentiality. This solution supports data availability both on-chain and off-chain, providing AI agents with reliable access to information while maintaining privacy.
The project also includes the AI Agent Interoperability Protocol, allowing agents to coordinate their actions across all levels of MCP, enabling collaborative learning. According to the developers, this will create a unified adaptive network of agents capable of outperforming individual AI systems.
“Today we stand on the brink of a once-in-a-generation opportunity — the merger of AI and Web3. This is a force that we believe will lead to exponential growth across the entire industry. With SpoonOS, we are taking a bold step forward,” said Neo founder Da Hongfei.
As SpoonOS develops, the project will evolve into a decentralized ecosystem where AI agents can interact, learn, and collaboratively create value. Part of the allocated $2 million will be invested in training developers in the field of the ‘intelligent economy,’ while hackathons will serve as an incubator for funding projects in this area.
