Inflation in Ukraine Increased to 0.7% in January 2026 – State Statistics Data

In January 2026, inflation in the consumer market of Ukraine compared to December 2025 was 0.7%, and in annual terms, it was 7.4%.

Price Dynamics for Food and Goods

Core inflation in January 2026 was 0.4% compared to the previous month and 7% in annual terms. In the consumer market, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.8% in January. The most significant price increase was observed in vegetables, which rose by 14.7%. There was also an increase in prices for processed grain products, fruits, fish and fish products, sunflower oil, beef, milk and dairy products, bread, and non-alcoholic beverages, ranging from 2.6% to 0.6%.

At the same time, there was a decrease in prices for certain categories: eggs became cheaper by 7.7%, while pork, butter, poultry meat, sugar, rice, and lard decreased by 2.2% to 0.5%.

Changes in the Cost of Goods and Services

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased in price by 1.1%, driven by a 1.6% rise in the price of tobacco products. Clothing and footwear, on the other hand, became cheaper by 4.8% (clothing by 5.7%, footwear by 3.5%).

Transport services increased by 1.2%, which is related to a 1.4% rise in fuel and lubricants prices, as well as an increase in the cost of travel in road and rail passenger transport (by 1.3% and 1.0%, respectively).

In the communications sector, a price increase of 4.3% was recorded. The main factor was the increase in tariffs for local telephone services by 33.0% and mobile services by 6.1%.
