Former Member of Parliament and officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ihor Lapin has proposed freezing the bank accounts of all citizens who evade mobilization.

Proposal to Freeze Accounts to Enhance Accountability
During a live broadcast on one of the Ukrainian TV channels, Ihor Lapin emphasized that such a measure would contribute to establishing justice in the state. He is convinced that blocking the accounts of over two million Ukrainians who evade their mobilization duty could be an effective mechanism of influence.
“All 2 million draft dodgers need to have their accounts frozen – that’s when justice will be served. The MPs will do this very quickly,” he stated.
Discussion in Parliament and Prospects for Implementation
It is worth noting that the possibility of freezing the bank accounts of draft dodgers was discussed during the consideration of a draft law aimed at strengthening mobilization in the spring of 2024. However, at that time, this proposal did not gain support among the Members of Parliament in the Verkhovna Rada.
