As the end of winter 2026 approaches, the issue of gas tariffs remains one of the most pressing for millions of Ukrainian families. Despite the expected seasonal increase in demand, the natural gas market for residential consumers demonstrates stability in terms of annual tariffs.

Annual Tariffs: Stability and Predictability
The main news for gas consumers is the retention of key annual tariffs unchanged. The state GК “Naftogaz of Ukraine”, which supplies fuel to over 12 million households, has maintained a fixed price of 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. This tariff will remain in effect at least until April 2026, allowing families to confidently plan their heating expenses.
It is worth noting that all eight supplier companies operating in the residential market have also not revised their annual offers. The price range is from 7.96 to 9.99 UAH per cubic meter. Thus, consumers who have contracts with other suppliers can expect to maintain favorable conditions.

Monthly Tariffs: Rapid Growth and Risks
At the same time, February sees an increase in prices in the segment of monthly (variable) tariffs offered by four out of eight suppliers. Compared to January, the average increase is over 2 UAH. The cost of gas in this segment starts from 8.46 UAH/cubic meter and can reach as high as 28.00 UAH/cubic meter depending on the company and market conditions.
“The monthly tariff is a bet on market conditions, which can be advantageous at certain times but requires constant monitoring and readiness for sharp fluctuations”.
This dynamic highlights the risks associated with choosing a variable tariff for residential consumers, as the market remains unpredictable, especially during the winter period.
Key takeaways from the gas market at the end of February 2026:
- Stable annual tariffs – remain the foundation of financial security for consumers, especially the “Naftogaz” tariff;
- Choice options – the market offers various alternatives, but changing suppliers or tariffs requires careful analysis of the conditions;
- Overwhelming majority in safety – about 98% of consumers receiving gas from “Naftogaz” did not experience changes in their bills this month.
Thus, in February 2026, the price of natural gas for most Ukrainians remains unchanged at 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. This stability ensures confidence in planning utility expenses even in the coldest months of the year.
