Battery – this is the key and most expensive component of the electric vehicle. Tesla’s lithium-ion batteries typically last between 10 to 20 years, but if replacement is necessary, the owner will have to pay between $5,000 and $20,000.
Touchscreen – the central element of Tesla’s interior, combining the functions of the infotainment system and vehicle control. Repairing or replacing this screen will cost approximately $1,300.
Air Suspension – after driving 80,000–100,000 km, maintenance or replacement of this system may be required. The cost of such work depends on the vehicle model and ranges from $1,500 to $5,000.
Other Costly Repairs
Drive Unit – this component converts the battery’s energy into mechanical movement of the wheels. Repairing or replacing this unit can cost between $1,200 and $3,500, and if a bearing replacement is necessary, it can be even more expensive.
Windshield – in Tesla, it is equipped with special sensors, which requires not only glass replacement but also system recalibration. As a result, the cost of this work ranges from $575 to $3,400.
