Gasoline Prices for A-95 in Ukraine Have Sharply Increased: Current Figures and Forecasts

Over the past weekend, gasoline prices for A-95 at gas stations in Ukraine rose sharply. As of Monday, August 25, the average cost of a liter of A-95 gasoline reached 58.65 UAH, which is 1.58 UAH higher compared to the price on Friday, August 22. This jump nearly completely offset the previous decrease that occurred at the end of last week, when from August 21-22, gasoline prices dropped by 1.85 UAH/l.

Reasons for Price Increase and Market Outlook

Experts note that significant price fluctuations are not expected in the coming days. Prices are likely to remain close to the current level, as the margins of large gas station networks remain high.

“The markup is 15 UAH/l, with a normative value of 12-13%,” analysts reported.

This margin gives market operators the potential to reduce prices by up to 2 UAH/l, but a decrease in costs is not anticipated in the near future.

The main reasons for the sustained high prices, according to analysts, are the peak sales season and significant fuel consumption levels. Price reductions are expected only with the onset of autumn rains, when the outdoor recreation season ends and construction slows down. During this period, gas station networks may begin to compete more actively for customers through pricing offers. However, throughout the current week, gasoline prices are forecasted to remain stable.

Current Prices at Various Gas Station Networks

According to the consulting group “A-95”, as of August 25, gasoline prices at major gas station networks range from 53.46 to 61.99 UAH/l. The most expensive fuel is offered by networks such as WOG, OKKO, and Shell, where prices reach 61.99 UAH/l. The lowest prices are recorded at BRSM-Nafta stations at 54.12 UAH/l, as well as at the “Ukr-Petrol” network at 54 UAH/l.
