On the night of May 13, a large-scale fire was recorded at the linear production dispatch station (LPD) “Nurlino” in Bashkortostan. The incident was reported by social media users who published numerous videos and photos showing a thick column of smoke engulfing the sky over the region. Local authorities have not commented on the event, but Russians are actively sharing footage from the scene of the fire.

Scale of the Incident at the Oil Pumping Station
According to OSINT researchers, this concerns the LPD “Nurlino”, located 22 km northwest of Ufa. This is where the main trunk oil pipelines of the company “Transneft” transport oil from Siberian fields towards Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Taman, and other regions. Maps of the pipelines show that the “Nurlino” station is located south of the “Perm” LPD and connects pipelines from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
The first reports of the emergency near Ufa appeared on the morning of May 13 in Telegram channels. The published photos and videos show dense clouds of smoke towering over the city, gradually darkening and spreading to the outskirts. The regional office of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that they dispatched teams to the site to extinguish the fire.
Details of the Event and Significance of the Facility
No air raid alerts or reports of drone attack threats were recorded in local communities of Bashkortostan and Ufa. At the same time, the LPD “Nurlino” holds strategic importance for the oil transportation system of the Russian Federation, as it facilitates the transit of Siberian oil to the southern regions of the country and to oil refineries. According to Google Maps, the station has 24 tanks with a diameter of about 46 meters, and its geographical coordinates are 54.79643, 55.54504.
“Local authorities remain silent about the incident, even as Russians publish videos of a black-gray column of smoke engulfing the sky.”
It is also worth noting that the night before, on May 12, a similar incident occurred at the neighboring station — the LPD “Perm”. There, drone strikes and fires at oil storage facilities and equipment at the Perm oil refinery were recorded multiple times.
The fire at the LPD “Nurlino” represents another blow to the critical energy infrastructure of the Russian Federation, confirming the extensive vulnerability of the country’s oil pumping system, despite its distance from the border with Ukraine.
