Details of the Incident and Eyewitness Accounts

Iranian journalists have published photographs clearly showing smoke rising from the Black Hawk helicopter. Newsmax journalist and former Pentagon reporter Carla Babb confirmed that the helicopter sustained damage while crossing the Iranian border from the southern side of Iraq. It is known that the crew attempted to fly at a low altitude to avoid radar detection. Meanwhile, videos have surfaced on social media showing gunfire directed at the helicopter from automatic weapons.

“I confirm that the Black Hawk helicopter was shot down by Iran. The crew is safe, an American official told me,” Carla wrote on X.

Additional Air Incidents

At the same time as the Black Hawk incident, reports emerged of another American combat aircraft crash — an A-10 Warthog. Preliminary information indicates that this aircraft crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, and the pilot was rescued. It is noted that the crash occurred almost simultaneously with the F-15E disaster; however, there have been no official comments from the Pentagon regarding this matter. The available information requires further confirmation.
