Ethereum Whale Moves 11,104 ETH After Eight Years of Inactivity

On the night of April 6, 2025, an unknown Ethereum whale became active after a long eight-year period of inactivity, transferring 11,104 ETH, which is approximately $20 million, according to Arkham data.

It is known that out of this amount, 10,856 ETH was sent to another wallet, while the remaining 247.93 ETH ended up on the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. Interestingly, the wallet to which the coins were transferred was created on the day of the transfer, and it currently still holds 10,856 ETH, valued at over $16 million.

Transaction Details and Market Situation

At the time of writing, Ethereum is trading below the $1,500 mark, as seen in the ETH/USDT chart on the Binance exchange.

Additionally, analysts from Lookonchain reported that this unknown whale sent 4.52 million USDC to the Hyperliquid platform to open a long position in Ethereum. They executed the trade with a 20x leverage at a price of $1,459, and the current position volume stands at 47,253 ETH (about $70 million), with a liquidation price of $1,391.7.

It was previously noted that another participant from the Ethereum initial coin offering awakened after nine years and seven months of dormancy.
