Situation in the Regions: Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy

In Kharkiv Oblast, according to Kharkivoblenergo, emergency power outage schedules have been implemented to ensure the reliable operation of the energy network. In addition, hourly outage schedules continue to be in effect in the region.

In Poltava Oblast, emergency power outages have similarly been applied. Energy workers reported the execution of the “Ukrenergo” directive regarding the introduction of schedules for several queues.

“On January 6, a command was received from NEC ‘Ukrenergo’ to apply emergency outage schedules in the volume of 5 queues,” the message states.

Sumy Oblast has also experienced changes in the electricity supply schedule. On the morning of January 6, by the directive of “Ukrenergo”, emergency outage schedules for five consumer queues were introduced in the region. The press service emphasized that the queues for emergency outages do not coincide with the hourly outage queues.

Reasons and Features of the Outages

The introduction of restrictions is related to the damage to the country’s energy system due to enemy shelling. Energy workers emphasize that these measures are forced and aim to maintain balance in the system and prevent larger-scale emergencies.

As of now, emergency outage schedules are not being applied in Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy Oblasts; however, the situation remains dynamic, and changes are possible depending on the state of the energy system.
