The United States Embassy in Kyiv officially announced the continuation of its operations, refuting information regarding a possible cessation of activities. American diplomats assured that the embassy remains open, and there are no changes in its functioning.

“The US Embassy is open. There are no changes in our operations, and reports to the contrary are false,” the statement reads.
Safety of American Citizens and the State Department’s Position
Diplomats noted that the safety and protection of American citizens remain a priority for the US State Department. In this regard, the situation around the embassy in Kyiv is constantly monitored and assessed from a security perspective. The institution emphasized that US citizens are advised to refrain from traveling to Ukraine for any reason due to the armed conflict.
Response to Threats from Russia and Security Assessments
Following the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on May 25, which announced strikes on “decision-making centers and command posts” in Kyiv and called for foreign citizens to leave the city, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the level of security threats for Kyiv and other cities remains stable and is not different from previous years. The Ministry described such threats from Russia as “shameless blackmail.”
The Head of the EU Delegation in Kyiv, Katarina Maternova, believes that the Russian warnings aim to sow panic among foreign representatives and residents of the capital. At the same time, despite claims that “America has left,” the EU continues to support the presence of its diplomats in Kyiv.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that Kyiv has already become a dangerous city due to regular attacks from Russia in recent years, and added that the US remains committed to supporting Ukraine. He stressed that the American side is ready to play an active role in resolving the conflict and achieving peace.
