Corruption, Rising Prices, and Utility Tariffs: Key Issues Concerning Ukrainians in 2025

According to the results of a sociological survey conducted by the “First Rating System” on behalf of American Political Services, the top concern for Ukrainians in 2025 is corruption, highlighted by 42.7% of respondents. The second concern is the rise in food prices, which worries 39.1% of those surveyed.

Tariffs and the Consequences of War: What Else Worries Citizens

High utility tariffs have become another significant issue for the population, mentioned by 32.8% of survey participants. Almost a third of citizens (29.4%) pointed to the impact of hostilities and their consequences for the country.

Low wage levels concern 26.4% of respondents, while the issue of low pensions and social benefits worries 26.3% of those surveyed. Among other important issues, Ukrainians noted the mobilization of their loved ones (22.4%), insufficient defense capability (13.8%), and limited access to medical services and medications (11.3%).

Perception of the Country’s Development Direction

“Only 7.6% of Ukrainians believe that the country is developing definitely in the right direction, while another 27.3% chose the option ‘rather in the right direction.’ Among the youth, the number of optimists is higher — 36%.”

At the same time, 28.5% of citizens are convinced that the country’s development is happening “rather in the wrong direction,” and another 26.2% of respondents believe that Ukraine is moving “definitely in the wrong direction.” This dynamic indicates a growing public anxiety regarding the socio-economic situation in the state.
