Cathie Wood from ARK Invest Compares Hyperliquid to Early Solana and Discusses Market Prospects

CEO of ARK Invest Cathie Wood expressed the opinion that the decentralized exchange Hyperliquid has the potential to replicate the success path of Solana during its early development stages. In an interview on the Master Investor podcast, she noted that Hyperliquid could become a new leader among decentralized platforms, considering the dynamics of Solana’s early establishment.

Key Crypto Assets in ARK Invest’s Portfolio

In ARK Invest’s public funds, the focus remains on three main digital assets – Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. According to Cathie Wood, the company is actively collaborating with the Solana ecosystem through Breera Sports, which is connected to the fund’s treasury and supported by investors from the Middle East. Additionally, ARK Invest is consulting with economist Art Laffer, who is involved in the project’s development.

At the same time, Wood emphasized that ARK Invest currently does not hold positions in Hyperliquid but considers the protocol worthy of attention. Her assessment came amid increasing competition among decentralized perpetual futures exchanges. On September 24, 2025, it was reported that the Aster platform surpassed Hyperliquid in trading volume, reaching $25.77 billion per day according to DeFiLlama data.

Long-Term Prospects of the Crypto Market

Cathie Wood is confident that despite interest in new market participants, the crypto industry will focus on a few major networks in the long term. She emphasized that Bitcoin remains a “pure” cryptocurrency with a fixed supply and stable monetary policy, while Ethereum plays a key role in the development of DeFi infrastructure. However, according to her, Bitcoin is the foundation of ARK Invest’s investment strategy.

“We don’t think there will be a lot of cryptocurrencies,” she stated.

Wood also reported that the fund holds a number of derivatives, including Uniswap tokens and assets based on Solana. However, the main interest is concentrated on the three largest digital assets, which she believes will define the development of the entire industry.

Earlier, it was announced that the Native Markets project team won the vote for the development of USDH – a stablecoin for the Hyperliquid platform.
