Ukrainian seaports have processed over 15 million tons of cargo since the beginning of 2026. The largest share of this volume — 14.5 million tons — comes from the seaports of the so-called Greater Odessa, which includes Odessa, Yuzhny, and Chornomorsk.

Details of cargo turnover in Ukrainian ports
Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister for Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kubela noted that it is the ports of Greater Odessa that provide the main volume of transshipment. In particular, of the 14.5 million tons of cargo, 8.5 million tons consist of grain exports, which remains a priority direction for Ukrainian logistics and the agricultural sector.
At the same time, the Danube ports processed 1.1 million tons of cargo, of which 221 thousand tons were grain exports. This indicates the important role of the Danube ports in ensuring sustainable exports of Ukrainian products, even amid challenging security conditions.
Maritime corridor and challenges for port infrastructure
Since September 2023, nearly 179 million tons of cargo have been transported through the Ukrainian maritime corridor, including 107 million tons of grain. During this period, 7,087 vessels have been processed, highlighting the scale of work by Ukrainian port workers and sailors.
“Behind every ton of cargo is the daily work of people who operate under the constant threat of shelling. Port workers, sailors, logisticians, and engineers ensure the movement of vessels and the fulfillment of export contracts in extremely difficult conditions,” emphasized Kubela.
Oleksii Kubela also pointed out the ongoing attacks by the Russian Federation on port infrastructure. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 726 port infrastructure facilities and 153 civilian vessels have been damaged or partially destroyed. Additionally, 238 civilians have been affected, which further underscores the risks faced by the industry.
