Traffic Increase and Load Forecast

Before Christmas and New Year, Ukrainians are actively crossing the border, heading for holiday vacations or shopping. Border guards note that there is currently moderate passenger traffic at “Rava-Ruska,” “Uhryniv,” and “Hrusheva.”

The State Border Guard Service predicts an increase in the number of travelers by approximately 25% compared to normal figures. Additionally, an increase in the number of vehicles entering and leaving Ukraine is expected.

Measures to Optimize Crossing and Tips for Travelers

To reduce queues and ensure quick processing of travelers, the 7th Border Detachment of the Carpathian Region is gradually increasing the number of personnel, deploying additional automated workstations, and coordinating actions with Polish colleagues.

“On Christmas and New Year’s days, a temporary decrease in traffic intensity is expected, while a gradual reduction in passenger traffic is forecasted after the first week of January. To avoid long waits, choose less busy border crossings and cross the border in the early morning or late evening hours when traffic intensity is lower,” advised the border guards.

Residents and travelers can find up-to-date information about the load at border crossings on the official Facebook pages of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service and the 7th Border Detachment of the Carpathian Region.
