The G7 countries expressed approval regarding the nomination for the position of Director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine. The group of ambassadors supporting reforms noted that the transparency of the process and the active involvement of both international and Ukrainian members of the selection committee were key factors in this stage of the selection.

“The G7 ambassadors welcome the latest step in the process of selecting the director of the Bureau of Economic Security. Transparency with active participation from both international and Ukrainian members of the committee is crucial,” the statement said.

Diplomats emphasized that the reform of the Bureau of Economic Security is vital for improving the business climate in Ukraine, enhancing investment attractiveness, and advancing towards Euro-Atlantic integration. The implementation of changes in the Bureau is seen as a strategic step towards ensuring economic stability and effectively combating economic crimes.
Candidate for the Position of Director of the Bureau of Economic Security
Recently, the selection committee for the head of the Bureau of Economic Security decided to submit the candidacy of the competition finalist, Oleksandr Tsivinsky, for consideration by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. He is the head of the third unit of detectives in the Second Main Directorate of Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
During the selection process, the committee reviewed a letter from the Security Service of Ukraine, which stated that Tsivinsky, like some other candidates, has relatives in Russia – in particular, his father resides in the territory of the Russian Federation. At the same time, during the hearings, Oleksandr Tsivinsky emphasized that he does not maintain connections with his father.
According to the established procedure, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must make a decision regarding the appointment of the candidate for the position of head of the Bureau of Economic Security within 10 days of receiving the submission.
