Australia Introduces New Sanctions Against Russian Citizens and Companies

Australia has expanded its list of sanctions against the Russian Federation, adding 37 individuals and 7 organizations. These restrictions are aimed at increasing pressure on Russia in response to its aggressive actions.

Support for Ukraine’s Energy Sector

In addition to the sanctions, the Australian government recently decided to allocate an additional 6 million euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. This funding is intended to meet the most urgent needs of Ukraine’s energy sector, particularly in light of the heightened threat from Russia.

Previously, Australia contributed an additional 6 million euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The funds from the Australian Government will be distributed to address key urgent needs of the Ukrainian energy sector.

Australia’s Overall Contribution to Energy Recovery

By the end of 2024, Australia announced its intention to increase its contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The total amount of financial assistance from Australia has already reached approximately 18 million euros. These funds are aimed at helping to restore and develop Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
