The United Kingdom has announced a new package of sanctions that includes 150 trade restrictions against Russia. This step is part of the government’s efforts to weaken the military capabilities of the Russian Federation on the front in Ukraine.

In particular, the UK has banned the export of game console controllers, which, according to government information, are used to operate drones during combat. As stated by the UK’s sanctions minister, Stephen Doughty:
“Today we are using all our capabilities to choke off the Russian war machine, save lives in Ukraine, and protect British businesses from cynical Russian exploitation”

The new sanctions package also includes a ban on the export of chemicals, electronics, machinery, and metals, aimed at limiting the military and industrial capabilities of Russia.
