Who is affected by the sanctions and what restrictions have been imposed

Sanctions have been imposed on Ukrainian lawyer Andriy Bohdan, who previously headed the Office of the President, as well as on entrepreneur Bohdan Pukish, known as an associate and partner of the sanctioned Viktor Medvedchuk. Additionally, the list includes Russian businessman Alan Kiryukhin, a key manager of the payment system A7A5, which is used to circumvent sanctions. Sanctions have also been applied against officials of the Olympic sports of the Russian Federation – Stanislav Pozdnyakov and Mikhail Mamiashvili.

“Restrictive measures include: deprivation of state awards of Ukraine, blocking of assets, termination of trade operations, prevention of capital outflow beyond Ukraine, suspension or revocation of licenses and other permits, prohibition of participation in the privatization and lease of state property,” the law states.

Details about the individuals on the list

The sanctions, lasting for 10 years, in addition to the indefinite deprivation of state awards, concern various individuals from the fields of politics, business, and sports. Andriy Bohdan, a lawyer by education, was previously the personal lawyer of Igor Kolomoisky. During the 2019 election campaign, he provided legal advice to Zelensky’s team, and after Zelensky’s victory, he became the head of first the Presidential Administration and then the newly created Office of the President. Bohdan held this position for less than a year – he was dismissed in February 2020, and Andriy Yermak became the new head.
