Who among Ukrainians will receive financial assistance for Independence Day in 2025

On Independence Day in 2025, a portion of Ukrainians will receive a one-time financial assistance payment, which may reach 3100 hryvnias. To receive the payment, it is necessary to submit the relevant documents to the Pension Fund of Ukraine or through the employer, depending on the individual’s status.

Which categories of citizens are entitled to the payment

Individuals with special merits to the Motherland, war veterans, people with disabilities due to war, as well as former prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, or other places of forced detention who were children at the time of imprisonment, are entitled to financial assistance. The highest amount — 3100 hryvnias — will be granted to those with special merits to Ukraine.

For individuals with disabilities due to war, the amount of assistance is determined based on the disability group:

  • Group I — 3100 hryvnias;
  • Group II — 2900 hryvnias;
  • Group III — 2700 hryvnias.

How to apply for and receive the payment

Pensioners who fall under the specified categories will have the payment credited automatically along with their pension in June, and there is no need to contact the Pension Fund additionally.

For those who work or serve, the funds will be transferred to the accounts of organizations or military units. The payment is made based on the employer’s application, so it is important to ensure that all documents confirming veteran status are submitted to the administration of the relevant institution or unit.

“Citizens who are not pensioners, do not work, and do not serve, but are entitled to financial assistance, must personally contact the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. The application must include: passport details; identification code; bank account details; information from the certificate confirming the right to receive the payment.”

Applications can be submitted in one of the following ways:

  • in person — at the service center of the Pension Fund or the administrative services center;
  • by mail — to the address of the territorial division of the Pension Fund;
  • online — through the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund using a qualified electronic signature.

The recommended deadline for submitting applications is by August 1, 2025. If it is not possible to apply by this date, documents can be submitted until October 1, 2025.
