The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is preparing a draft law aimed at regulating the export of weapons. This was reported by the Executive Director of the Technological Forces of Ukraine, Kateryna Mykhalko. She emphasized that developing a legislative framework is crucial for forming a transparent and effective mechanism for exporting Ukrainian military technologies.

Legislative Changes and the Strategic Importance of Export
Mykhalko noted that the export of weapons holds not only economic significance for Ukraine but also important political implications. She is confident that the opening of exports will be possible if this issue is supported at the highest levels of government. At the same time, decisions regarding exports must be made judiciously, taking into account the positions of Ukrainian intelligence agencies as well as all diplomatic circumstances.
“Exporting to the EU is the first and logical step. However, it is strategically important how Ukraine will reclaim the market of neutral countries from the Russian Federation. Because this will make us wealthier, and deprive our enemy of the opportunity for additional income, if not making them poorer. That’s how it should work,” emphasized Mykhalko.
Prospects for Ukrainian Exports in International Markets
According to Mykhalko, neutral states could become promising markets for supplying Ukrainian technologies. This concerns not only military products but also dual-use goods or technologically outdated products that may find demand abroad. Such an approach will allow Ukraine to strengthen its own economy while simultaneously weakening the economic positions of the Russian Federation in the international arms market.
