After a large-scale cyberattack, the company “Ukrzaliznytsia” (UZ) has resumed the ability to issue discount tickets for students. Previously, the issuance of tickets for persons with disabilities had already become available, and the online station board has been restored.

The company is actively working on restoring verification through Diia.Signature, the auto-purchase ticket function, and the loyalty program “Iron Friends.” “We have good news for our student passengers. Discount tickets are now available in the app. We continue to restore the functionality of online ticket sales,” the UZ press service reported.
Importance of Restoring Functions
One of the most significant restored services is the ability to issue discount tickets for persons with disabilities. This greatly simplifies travel for those entitled to discounts, as tickets can now be purchased directly in the app, eliminating the need for additional visits to ticket offices.
Additionally, passengers can once again use the online station board, which provides real-time information about train arrivals and departures at all key railway stations in the country. This is especially important for those planning a trip or meeting passengers at the station.
Future Plans
The company is also actively working on restoring other important functions. New capabilities are expected to be implemented in the near future:
- Verification through Diia.Signature – will simplify the ticket purchasing process and obtaining discounts;
- Monitoring with auto-purchase – this function will allow automatic ticket purchases when they become available;
- Restoration of the “Iron Friends” program – the return of the loyalty program and all associated benefits.
