Ukrainians Warned About the Risk of Gas Outages in Entire Neighborhoods This Winter

Ruslan Martsinkiv, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, warned about possible serious disruptions in gas supply this winter due to the ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. According to him, in the worst-case scenario, entire neighborhoods could be left without gas, complicating life for residents during the heating season.

Potential Consequences of Russian Shelling for Energy

Martsinkiv emphasized that the risks of being without gas, in addition to traditional power outages, are extremely high this winter. He noted that damage to gas and electrical infrastructure could lead to significant difficulties for the population, especially in the city’s apartment buildings.

“Winter will be tough. I have to say this: the worst thing that could happen is a gas outage. Such a scenario is likely – entire neighborhoods may be cut off from gas. Therefore, the situation will be complicated,” the mayor stated during a broadcast on Radio “Western Pole”.

Options for Residents and Hopes for Specialists

According to Martsinkiv, some residents will be able to wait out the difficult period in rural areas or with relatives, but not all Ukrainians have that option. He stressed that problems with gas supply are already significant, as the enemy targets key energy facilities. At the same time, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk expressed hope that gas service specialists would be able to respond quickly to complications and prevent large-scale outages.
