Ukrainian Woman Bought a House Near Kyiv for 10 Thousand Dollars: Life Experience and Renovation

Victoria Rusakova, a popular blogger who creates content about motherhood, daily life, and renovations, shared her experience of buying her own house in the village of Besidka in the Kyiv region. The house, located a 1.5-hour drive from Kyiv, cost her 10 thousand dollars. In her blog, Victoria regularly showcases life in the village without embellishments, filming reviews, unboxings, and ASMR videos, as well as highlighting the realities of renovation and home arrangement.

First Impressions and Renovation Planning

Victoria’s new house still requires significant renovation efforts but is already livable. In one of her posts, she candidly discusses the first days after moving in, not hiding the difficulties and future plans:

“We bought a house in the village. Not perfect, but our own. For now, it’s not Pinterest: dust, old walls, and a lot of work. But the main things are already here – silence, space, and peace. Ahead are renovations, nerves, and many happy moments… I will show you everything as it is. Stay tuned, it will be interesting ahead.”

Victoria conducted a virtual tour of the house: currently, the first room has been turned into a kitchen, but a bathroom will be added later. Next is the boiler room, which will serve as a storage space for household chemicals or a laundry room, a hallway (pass-through area), another pass-through room, another kitchen, and the largest room will be a bedroom.

People’s Reactions and the Uniqueness of the House

In the comments under Victoria’s video, messages appeared from the daughter of the previous owners, who shared that her father grew up in this house and wished the new owners happiness. At the same time, users shared advice on space planning — in particular, they noted the location of the bathroom relative to the bedroom and suggested options for its redesign for greater convenience.

Some viewers highlighted the unique vintage furniture left in the house: a “Stalinist sofa,” a wardrobe, benches, and blankets, which they believe have historical and financial value.

Victoria’s house is situated on a plot of land measuring 35 acres, which also became a topic of discussion among followers. Many acknowledged that such a price along with the land is a very advantageous offer in the current real estate market.

The post also mentions other examples of purchasing affordable real estate: for instance, an apartment in Italy for 27 thousand euros, as well as the experience of a young couple from Khmelnytskyi who took on a major renovation of an old house and are cultivating 25 acres of garden. Such stories inspire many Ukrainians to choose life in their own home in nature and engage in the restoration of rural architecture.
