The owner of the Ukrainian company “Three Bears,” Dmytro Ushmaiev, made his first significant investment abroad last year by acquiring the Polish group Nordis. This group includes two enterprises: an ice cream and frozen semi-finished products manufacturer in Zielona Góra, as well as a vegetable processing plant, Calfrost, in Kalisz. The estimated value of the deal, which took into account existing debts, could range from 8 to 10 million dollars.

Sale of Non-Core Asset and Further Development of Nordis
Recently, it became known that the Calfrost plant has been sold. A buyer has already been found for this asset. The enterprise was non-core for the new owner and was on the brink of bankruptcy even before the group was purchased. Thus, Calfrost is exiting Ushmaiev’s asset portfolio.
Modernization, Export, and Future Plans
The main Polish plant of Nordis, which specializes in the production of ice cream and frozen products, remains under the ownership of the Ukrainian entrepreneur. After significant modernization, the plant currently employs around 200 staff. Nordis not only operates steadily but also demonstrates profitability. The products of the plant are successfully sold in the Polish market and exported to ten countries, primarily within the European Union, as well as to Israel and Ukraine.
“By the end of 2025, the export share may reach 10%, and the expected turnover of the company will amount to €12-15 million.”
Dmytro Ushmaiev confirms the continuation of the business development strategy in Europe, emphasizing the focus on enhancing production and increasing exports of products under the Nordis brand.
