Ukrainian Domestic Metal Rolling Market Shrinks by 11% in January-February 2026

In the first two months of 2026, the volume of the domestic metal rolling market in Ukraine decreased to 495.5 thousand tons. This is 11% less than in the same period last year, when consumption was 556.8 thousand tons.

Decline in Demand and Increase in Import Share

According to the association of enterprises “Ukrmetallurgprom”, the share of Ukrainian-produced metal rolling in the market structure is 50.2% or 248.6 thousand tons. Meanwhile, imported products accounted for 49.8% of the market – that is 246.9 thousand tons, which is 12.6% more than in the same period last year.

Ukrainian-produced products account for 50.2% or 248.6 thousand tons of rolled metal. At the same time, the share of imported products in the domestic market over the two months was 49.8% or 246.9 thousand tons. Over the year, it increased by 12.6%.

Import Structure and Main Suppliers

In January-February 2026, the import of metal rolling to Ukraine was characterized by a predominance of flat rolled products, which accounted for 53.5% of the total import volume. In comparison, in January-February 2025, its share was even higher – 82.55%. The share of section rolling in 2026 was 30.2% (in 2025 – 14.42%).

Among the main suppliers of metallurgical products to Ukraine, European countries outside the EU rank first, providing 44.9% of imports. The second position is held by countries in the Asian region – 24.6%, while the third place is occupied by EU-27 states with a share of 17.3%.
