Ukraine Simplifies the Procedure for Installing Solar Power Plants on Buildings

Ukraine has introduced a simplified procedure for installing solar power plants on the roofs and facades of buildings. From now on, special documents that were previously mandatory are no longer required for the installation of such facilities.

New Conditions for Building Owners

The installation of solar power plants is no longer considered reconstruction or major repairs of a building. These types of work previously required special permits and lengthy administrative procedures. According to the updated rules, it is now sufficient to prepare a report on the technical inspection of the building.

Waiver of Additional Permits

Additional permitting or registration procedures from the state architectural and construction control authorities are no longer necessary. This significantly reduces the time and financial costs for citizens and businesses planning to install solar power plants on their properties.

“The government has simplified the installation rules and excluded these works from the list requiring special documents,” noted Svyrydenko.

The implementation of such changes will stimulate the development of renewable energy and contribute to increasing the country’s energy independence.
