Licensing Agreement Between Ukraine and the UK
The defense ministries of both countries have signed a licensing agreement that allows for the production of Ukrainian interceptors in British facilities. The manufactured drones will be sent to Ukraine to enhance the protection of its airspace.
“Together with our allies, we are developing Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. This is a historic precedent and an important next step that will enable the production of Ukrainian interceptors in the United Kingdom, which have proven their effectiveness against ‘Shaheds’,” said Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on the social network Facebook.
Production Scale and Prospects
As noted by the Ukrainian Defense Minister, plans include the deployment of mass production of Octopus drones, which could reach several thousand units per month. These modern interceptors are expected to significantly enhance Ukraine’s air defense system, particularly in countering Iranian kamikaze drones “Shahed”.
The launch of production of Ukrainian drones in the United Kingdom marks a new phase in cooperation between the countries and increases Ukraine’s defense capabilities in the fight against aerial threats.
